Poppy Wreath no.3

While envisioning these pieces I thought of large billowing fields of poppies. I wanted to capture the poppy in all stages of its life, from bud, to flower, to seed pod with its black cap. I also wanted to capture the movement of the poppy in the field as it follows the sun and billows in the breeze, arriving at the different petal shapes that you can see in this piece. This wreath has two blossoms, as well as a bud and a seed pod, all framed within a brass ring.

Handmade from a few types of red, green and black stained glass. There is a small copper loop on the back of the middle flower for hanging.
