Part of the Language of Flowers Collections. Traditionally a gift of the Forget-Me-Not flower is a promise that you will always remember the recipient and will keep them in your thoughts. A few legends surround the flower, including a story of a German knight who in one version bent to pick the flower beside a river, but fell into the water and called out "forget me not" as he was swept away. In another version the woman he was with picked the flower herself but it fell in the swiftly moving river and he went in after it knowing he would likely be swept away.
