Inspired by the Tiger Moth, scientific name Arctia caja, this hanging was cut from pale cream stained glass, then hand-painted and fired to an enamel finish. Care was taken to replicate the moth's wing patterns as faithfully as possible, including the fuzzy texture of the wings and antennae.
Two discreet copper loops are attached to the top of the wings and then connected by a copper chain for hanging.
Each moth, like those in nature, is completely unique.
