A suncatcher inspired by the fortress of Isengard, one of the three major fortresses of Gondor, and the dwelling of Saruman in the Third Age in The Lord of the Rings. The suncatcher is handmade from beveled glass, which catches the light when placed in sunlight, grey, black and a white/clear wispy stained glass. The design of this piece was inspired by Saruman and his staff, the tower of Orthanc, and the Uruk-hai. The central motif is inspired by the symbol of the white hand of Saruman, which I have handpainted in white on a mottled background and fired to an enamel finish. Above and below are two designs inspired by the spire of Orthanc as well as the top of Saruman's staff. The black glass is opaque and the round white/clear glass is reminiscent of the white crystal topping the staff.

I am a huge fan of the books and films, so great care was taken in interpreting this design into stained glass.

“Though Isengard be strong and hard, as cold as stone and bare as bone, We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door!”"

Available only in the silver finish. Sold individually.
