I've always felt that the fuzzy dandelion is an under appreciated flower, often relegated to the ranks of a pesky weed. Dandelion was named after the French dent de lion, meaning lion’s tooth, which refers to its toothed leaves. It is often the first flower in spring and the last in autumn, making it important for our pollinators.

Probably the most memorable part of the dandelion is when it is transformed into a mass of white fuzz waiting for the wind, or a small child, to disperse its seeds. I tried to capture that feeling in my seed pieces using white and black stained glass. A small loop is fixed to the seed head for hanging.
