A new variation of my festive sprig of mistletoe! This time with golden leaves. The stems are made of flexible wire, secured together with a dab of solder and a gold ribbon!
From the earliest times mistletoe has been one of the most magical, mysterious, and sacred plants of European folklore. Kissing under the mistletoe is first found associated with the Greek festival of Saturnalia and later with primitive marriage rites. Later, the eighteenth-century English credited with a certain magical appeal called a kissing ball. At Christmas time a young lady standing under a ball of mistletoe, brightly trimmed with evergreens, ribbons, and ornaments, cannot refuse to be kissed. Such a kiss could mean deep romance or lasting friendship and goodwill!
Each sprig is made from 3 twigs, with 7 hand-enameled gold leaves and 7 berries in various shades of white and clear stained glass. Adjustable wire stems allow you to change the shape to your liking. Ready to hang with a bright gold festive ribbon.
Handmade from glass and a lead-free silver alloy solder.
